RENSSELAER FALLS -- Jessie Wainwright, formerly of Rensselaer Falls, will celebrate 100 years of life Aug. 12 at the fire hall here.

There will be an open house for friends and family to stop by and wish Wainwright happy birthday from 2-5 p.m. with snacks and drinks.

Wainwright was a graduate of Alex Bay High School and attended Potsdam Normal School. She taught in the Lisbon and Potsdam school systems and in Rensselaer Falls from 1947-1973.

She was married to the late Herbert Wainwright, Rensselaer Falls businessman and mayor.

She has one daughter, Linda Wainwright Liscum; two grandchildren, Brandi and her husband Robert Reichenbach, and Evan Liscum and his wife Reanda; five great grandchildren, Jesse and Haley Reichenbach, and Mariah Liscum, Jenna Leonard and Kelsie Liscum.

The party is hosted by Linda Liscum and her companion Antonio Tozzi.

The party organizers ask that no gifts be given.

If attendees feel compelled to bring something for Mrs. Wainwright, donations to either the fire department here or the cemetery association would be appreciated but not necessary.

Wainwright and her daughter moved to Ellenton, Fla., in 2014. Rensselaer Falls Mayor Michael Hammond now lives in their former home.
