Canton, NY – Tanner Pratt (Canton, NY) and Steve Novak (Seymour, CT) combined for seven goals as SUNY Canton defeated visiting Wells College, 15-9, on a windy and rainy day in Canton. The Roos (4-8) celebrated five members of their graduating class as Jeff Hammond (Rensselaer Falls, NY), Jack Keenan (Brasher Falls, NY), Kristian Daley (Canton, NY), Taylor Caswell (Potsdam, NY), Brian Nowak (Twin Lake, MI) and Pratt were all honored at halftime.

SUNY Canton got out to a quick 4-1 lead after the first quarter as four different players found the back of the net in Novak, Chris Gamble (Carthage, NY), Ryan Cardiff (Albany, NY) and Trevor Wight (Tierra Verde, FL).

The Express would get within 4-2 after an Alex Milliken score but five straight goals, two of which came off the stick of Pratt, gave the hosts a commanding 11-3 lead at intermission. The Roos held a 23-9 shots on goal edge at intermission.

Milliken scored two of the three next tallies out of break to get Wells within 12-5 but back-to-back markers from Novak increased the SUNY Canton lead to 14-5 after three quarters. Garrett DiTullio posted his 12th goal of the season to extend the Roo lead to 10 but four Wells scores in the final six plus minutes resulted in the 15-9 final.

Dylan Dix (Rochester, NY) earned the first win of his rookie season stopping six shots in the first half. Corey Spuck (Rochester, NY) and Hammond combined to make three saves each playing a quarter in relief. Tyler Bischoff turned aside 22 shots between the pipes for the Express.

Pratt led the Roos with four goals, while Novak netted three and Gamble and Cardiff tallied two each. Jansen paced the Express with four markers, while Milliken scored three times. Keenan recorded a game-high 11 pick-ups for the Roos including going an impressive 15-for-18 in the face-off circle. SUNY Canton tested the opposing goalie 37 times compared to 18 shots on target for Wells.
