POTSDAM, N.Y.—Three SUNY Potsdam men's lacrosse players have earned all-conference recognition the league announced today. Sophomore attackman Rob Kunz and senior defender Rashaun Durden were named to the All-SUNYAC second team, while sophomore midfielder Jared Flath received honorable mention status.

In his first season at Potsdam, Kunz played in all 13 games and led the Bears in scoring with 22 goals and 19 assists for 41 points. He collected 30 ground balls, caused six turnovers and scored four man-up goals and a game-winner. Kunz recorded career-highs in goals with four at Clarkson on April 4 and points with six (3g, 3a) against Oneonta on April 14.

This is the third straight season Durden has been recognized by the conference. As a sophomore in 2010, the defender was honorable mention. Last season, Durden became the second Bears men's lacrosse player to be named SUNYAC Player of the Year (Brian Austin 2001). He was also named an honorable mention All-American. He entered the 2012 season as a second team preseason All-American. This year Durden continued to harass opponents' top scorers. He started all 13 of Potsdam's games, collecting 16 ground balls and causing seven turnovers. Durden closes his four-year career with 47 ground balls and 30 caused turnovers in 52 games.

Flath, a first-year sophomore, quickly established himself as the Bears' primary faceoff man and an offensive threat. The midfielder took the majority of Potsdam's faceoffs with a .506 winning percentage (85-83). Flath was also the Bears' second leading scorer with 11 goals and 21 assists for 32 points in 13 games. He led the team in assists and ground balls (60) and scored three man-up goals and a game-winner. The sophomore had a career-best seven points against Plattsburgh on April 18 with two goals and five assists.
