POTSDAM — The SUNY Potsdam Campus-Community Band will present a free public musical exposition Tuesday, Dec. 15 at 5:30 p.m. in the Helen M. Hosmer Concert Hall.
"Voices of Music" will feature a variety of music paired with multimedia demonstrations and audience participation. A highlight of the program will be a social awareness presentation of Eric Whitacre's music composition, "Seal Lullaby."
Donations will be collected for Harpseals.org, a non-profit organization to stop the massacre of baby seals. A drawing for a pair of handcrafted toy seals will occur at this event.
The Campus-Community Band is an inclusive group of adult musicians from the Associated Colleges and the broader community, who come together weekly to enjoy collaborative music-making experiences.
To join the band, contact Dr. Caron Collins of The Crane School of Music, at 267-2404, or visit campuscommunityband.weebly.com.
