CANTON -- Learn about the 444 mile Yukon River Race from Dr. Eileen Visser, second place overall finisher in last year’s solo kayak division, at the 5th Annual State of the River Talk today.
The event will be held from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at 30 Court St.
Visser, of St. Lawrence University, has the second-fastest female solo time in the 20-year history of the race.
She will be discussing both her race and the training she did on our local rivers. Her talk is titled North Country Rivers Provide Training Grounds for Yukon River Race. It is suitable for all ages
The event is sponsored by Grasse River Heritage and Nature Up North.
