POTSDAM -- The Board of Trustees has approved salaries for people holding key positions in village government.
Trustees also made appointments in the water treatment plant and the wastewater treatment plant.
The salaries are effective June 1. They were approved on a vote of 3-1, with Trustee Maggie McKenna opposed, after an executive session to discuss them.
The salaries are:
• Recreation Director T. Smutz, $44,217
• Village Administrator G. Thompson , $78,030
• Police Chief M. Murray, $86,190
• Village Clerk/Treasurer Lori Queor, $70,984
• Director of Planning and Development F. Hanss, $75,280
• Museum Curator M. Van Deusen, $43,027
• Superintendent of DPW J. Corbett, $71,326
• Code Enforcement L. Newby, $48,350.
The board approved the permanent appointments of Brian Page as chief water treatment plant operator and James Blackmore as chief wastewater treatment plant operator.
Both will be paid $27.44 per hour.
The board noted that both had passed the Civil Service tests for their positions with scores of 100.
