This is in reference to the article in the Courier-Observer. As a resident of Norwood, I fail to understand why I should have to pay more taxes because Village of Potsdam residents want to pay less. I don’t even get to vote on this. They save and I pay and get nothing except the honor of living in the highest-taxed municipality in the county. I understand they have a right to dissolve their village but it shouldn’t be at my expense. When I purchased my home, I chose Norwood because of lower taxes, knowing full well that I was not getting as many services such as paid dire drivers and full-time police and I was okay with that. However, no one forced anyone to buy a home in the Village of Potsdam nor are they being forced to stay there if they think it’s too expensive. I, however ,will be forced to foot the bill for them to stay there and save money! Unreal!
