Three St. Lawrence County residents in Clarkson University's Army ROTC Golden Knight Battalion were recently commissioned as officers in the U.S. Army.
They include Matthew Flynn of Canton, Nicholas Carrara of Potsdam and Rebecca Hyatt of Ogdensburg.
The ceremony included swearing in, pinning of gold bars by family members and the traditional first salute, the so-called "silver dollar salute."
