Paul J. Bronchetti, 84, Massena

MASSENA -- Paul J. Bronchetti, 84, a longtime resident of North Main Street, passed away Monday morning, December 11, 2023, at Massena Rehabilitation and Nursing Center.

Paul was born on August 30, 1939, in Massena, the son of the late Anthony and Jennie (Spadafore) Bronchetti.

He was a graduate of Massena High School and Potsdam State.

Paul started his teaching career in Gouverneur until moving back to Massena to care for his mother and starting at Massena Central Schools, where he taught 6th grade until his retirement.

A lifelong communicant of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, he served as their choir director for over 50 years as well as volunteered his time and talent in many other duties within the church.

He was a life member of the Italian American Club and had a great love for music, going to restaurants with his friends, and visiting area shrines.

Paul is survived by his brother, Anthony M. “Chuck” Bronchetti of Massena; his niece, Tina, and John Phillips; his nephews, Tony Bronchetti, Thomas (Annie) Bronchetti, and Steven (Wendy Gu) Bronchetti; and great nieces and nephews, Mark, David, Sophia, Natalie, Jocelyn, and Adriana.

Arrangements are under the care and guidance of the Donaldson Funeral Home, Massena, however, at his request, there will be no calling hours.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday at 10:00 AM at St. Mary’s Catholic Church with Rev. Leagon Carlin, celebrating.

Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Massena.

In lieu of flowers, those wishing may consider memorial contributions in his memory to be made to a charity of one’s choice.
