Paul E. Trombley, 84, formerly of Ogdensburg

OGDENSBURG -- Paul E. Trombley, age 85, of North Port, FL, and formerly of Ogdensburg, NY, passed away on Friday, April 19, 2024, at the HCA Hospice Hospital in Port Charlotte, FL. He was surrounded by his loving family.

Paul is survived by his beloved wife of 66 years, Beryl Trombley; his son, Christopher (Christina) Trombly of Plainfield, IL; his daughter, Amanda Merrill of Ogdensburg; his sister-in-law, Carolyn Trombley of Lake Whales, FL; grandchildren, Heather Brouse, Leslie Jenkins, Michael Brouse, Mathew Brouse, Kayla Trombley Tucker, Ryan Trombley; five great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He was predeceased by his step father, Henry Polniak; and siblings, Carol Seguin, Richard, James & Roger Trombley.

Paul was born on December 7, 1938, in Potsdam, a son of the late Wilbur & Ivah (McEwen) Trombley.

He attended Ogdensburg Free Academy and Morristown Central for his education and later pursued millwright and welding talents at BOCES.

Paul proudly served his country in the US Army from 1956 until 1959 as a military police officer and dedicated six years in the reserves.

He married Beryl B. Benyon on July 5, 1958, in Delmere Cheshire, England.

During his career, Paul worked at Diamond National in 1959 and later with General Motors as a millwright & welder for 18 years.

He retired from General Motors in Bedford, IN, in 2000.

Paul found joy in golfing, traveling, visiting the beach, and spending cherished moments with his family and friends.

Paul was a member of the MGA Golf League and the American Legion and VFW.
