NORWOOD -- Bradan Dickinson of Parishville-Hopkinton Central School was recently chosen as the Potsdam Rotary Club student of the month for November at the Seaway Career and Technical Education Center.
Dickinson is a student in the HVAC/R program.
He is the son of Brenda Rayburn and Daniel Dickinson.
As a student in the HVAC/R Program, Dickinson is involved in learning basic electrical theory, wiring, troubleshooting skills, use of an electrical meter along with common electrical and mechanical hand tools, fundamental principles of refrigeration, combustion and trade safety, according to a press release.
The program also offers the opportunity to earn Federal Environmental Protection Agency Section 608 of the Clean Air Act Certification, which is needed to handle refrigerants.
Upon completion of the program, Dickinson will be able to service and install heating, air conditioning/refrigeration units and do electrical and plumbing service.
“Bradan is a well-rounded worker. He will dive into any project without hesitation. I feel Bradan has the appropriate skills to enter the field of HVAC or go on to higher education,” said instructor Murphy.
