On Aug. 2, the Panache Quartet will hold an afternoon workshop at the TAUNY Center in Canton and later play an evening concert at the Edwards Opera House. Panache Quartet are Cape Breton fiddler Andrea Beaton, Franco-American fiddler Donna Hebert, American Old-Time fiddler Jane Rothfield and Quebecois fiddler Veronique Plasse.
The workshop is 2 to 4 p.m. It is for intermediate to advanced players for all strings and melody instruments and includes a session with each of the Panache Quartet master fiddlers. Jane, Donna, Veronique and Andrea will each teach 1-2 tunes and delve into the rhythm, groove and music from Cape Breton, American Old Time, Quebeqois and Celtic fiddling traditions.
The cost is $40 or $35 for TAUNY Friends.

At 7 p.m. that evening, Panache Quartet will play a concert at the Edwards Opera House. Don Woodcock and friends will play an opening set. Tickets are $20 at the door, $10 for children ages 6 to 1 and under 6 is admitted free.
