Opinion: Fortunate to live in area with caring people, says Norfolk Raymondville Food Pantry

The Norfolk-Raymondville Food Pantry would like to express its sincere thanks to Lights on the River 2019 for all that it does to support the food pantries of St. Lawrence County.

Not only do a lot of these people work in the after hours, cold and dark to put on this amazing holiday light display, but many of the people (who put this event together) have full time jobs and families, as well.

We all know that December is a “crazy” month with too much to do and not enough time to do it. So the time and energy that these people donate becomes a greater gift, when giving so generously of their time and talent at this time of year!

On behalf of all the guests and volunteers at the Norfolk-Raymondville Food Pantry, we would like to shout out a huge thank you to these people for the seven boxes of non-perishable food and the check for $1,815.00 that LOTR gave us on Friday, Dec. 27. This will go towards purchasing food for our neighbors in need!

We would also like to express our appreciation to all who visited this wonderful display and made donations of non-perishable food and cash. We are fortunate to live in a county with so many kind, caring and generous people!

Happy New Year!
