NORWOOD -- Olive Morgan Haggett, 96 years old, was honored by the Norwood Fire Department at the Independence Day Parade July 4 with her appointment as Grand Marshal of the Parade.
Her daughter Alta Haggett said Olive had always thought about leading a parade, and even though the hot and humid weather was challenging, she was thrilled and humbled to be honored.
A short biography of her was read by Andy Van Dyne and a plaque was presented by the Norwood Fire Department thanking her for her service and dedication to the community of Norwood.
She thanks everyone for their love and support and leaves these words of wisdom for the younger generation: “Be Kind, Be Honest, Go the extra mile and Be Thankful in ALL Things.”
