OGDENSBURG -- Oldies PAC-98.7 is back on air after a freak January lightning storm destroyed a transmission building on the Black Lake Road.
Program Director Dave Merz said both YES-fm and PAC 98.7 are now broadcasting, but not at full power.
Affiliate station Q-Country was not impacted by the damage. PAC-98 came back to the airwaves late last week and YES-fm returned to the air Feb. 4
He said listeners in Morristown, Ogdensburg, Canton and Gouverneur should pick up the station with ease, but listeners in Potsdam, Parishville and Norwood may have trouble grabbing the signal.
"We are operating, but not at full power," he said. "We are working out of a temporary building right now."
Merz said the station wouldn’t be back in full swing until spring when the building can be rebuilt. But, listeners can expect both stations to be broadcasting as soon as possible.
"Bear with us. We are working through the process to get the stations back to what the they when once were and when they are back, they'll be better," he said.
The transmission building was destroyed Jan. 20 when lightning struck a tower and burned down the transmission site.
