OGDENSBURG – Veteran City Police Lieutenant Andrew Kennedy will be the next Ogdensburg Police Department Chief.
At a Monday meeting, City Manager John Pinkerton made the announcement. Residing chief Richard Polniak will retire in January of 2016.
Kennedy has served more than 30 years with the department.
“Thanks for the opportunity,” Kennedy said. “I am looking forward to continue serving the community.”
Mayor William Nelson said it’s great to have a local person promoted to the job.
He also thanked both Polniak and Kennedy for their service.
