CANTON -- Joshua LaMay, of Ogdensburg, studied in Ethiopia this summer as a participant in St. Lawrence University's Summer-term course there. A member of the class of 2013 at St. Lawrence, LaMay is a graduate of Madrid-Waddington Central School, majoring in sociology.
In the course Ethiopia: Ecology, Knowledge and Women, students looked at how household arrangements, community organizations and regional trade networks are activated in concert to mitigate the conflicting structures of the global economy, particularly as they affect women.
