OGDENSBURG — Following a successful inaugural year, the Ogdensburg History Museum is launching the second year of "Maple City Explorers," a monthly interactive program designed specifically for the homeschool community.
Running from October 2026 through May 2027, this educational series invites students to dive deep into the unique heritage of the St. Lawrence River valley through hands-on activities, primary source exploration, and engaging storytelling.
The program is led by retired kindergarten teacher Nancy Wilson Mashaw.
The program takes place on the second Monday of each month from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the museum, located at 206 Ford St.
The next session is Oct. 19.
To ensure a personalized, high-quality experience, capacity is limited to 12 children per session.
The series is open to children ages 6 and up.
The 2026-27 curriculum highlights include:
"Our goal is to help students make meaningful, personal connections to our city’s past using the very artifacts and stories housed within our walls," said Museum Director Julie Madlin.
