POTSDAM -- The Potsdam Chamber of Commerce is seeking nominations by Oct. 9 for its Pride in Potsdam Community Award.
In the past, this was known as the Commitment to Community Award, but has been renamed.
This award now reflects the efforts of an organization or business in enhancing the quality of life in Potsdam.
Letters of support, testimonials, and other support materials can accompany the nomination form to illustrate how the nominee meets the award criteria. For this award the nominee:
· must have an ongoing commitment to enhancing Potsdam
· may engage in specific activities that result in positive acclaim or recognition for themselves as well as the community
· acts as a positive model for other organizations or businesses in Potsdam
· supports charitable and service organizations.
Nomination forms are available at the Potsdam Chamber office at 24 Market St., or by request via email potsdam@slic.com.
The Pride in Potsdam Community Award will be presented at the Potsdam Chamber Annual Dinner on Nov. 13.
Also, the Outstanding Citizen Honor could be presented to an individual member of the community that enhances the quality of life in Potsdam through his or her efforts.
“Although this honor is not necessarily an annual award,” said Executive Director Marylee Ballou, “we will accept suggestions for individuals worthy of the honor at this time.”
