MASSENA -- New York Power Authority crews are scheduled to remove the docks and buoys along the St. Lawrence River in the vicinity of the St. Lawrence-FDR Power Project beginning the week of Oct. 21.

The work is expected to take about one week, but is weather dependent.

Beginning the week of Oct.21, docks and buoys will be removed from: Howard Park Docks, Whitaker Park Docks, Old Milk Factory Buoys in Waddington; Sand Island in Louisville;

Massena Intake Docks, Hawkins Point Dock & Buoy and South Channel Buoy in Massena

The docks and buoys are removed to ensure the safety of workers and to avert damage to boats, docks and buoys during spells of sub-freezing temperatures.

NYPA officials will notify the public when the docks and buoys are to be reinstalled, sometime in the spring of 2020.
