NORWOOD -- The Norwood Village Green Concert Series has successfully completed its “Light Up the Bandshell” campaign on Adirondack Gives, the crowdfunding site for Adirondack region nonprofits initiated by the Adirondack Community Foundation.
“Light Up the Norwood Village Green Concert Series” raised $800 to partially fund a new lighting system for the Norwood band shell. Some lights will be delivered on May 19.
At the same time more lights will be installed. The $5,000 needed for that was granted by the Northern New York Community Foundation.
This is the first step in replacing lamps that are deteriorating. Eventually the entire system will be replaced with more lamps.
“The series has served over 600,000 audience members, and thousands of school children and performers over the past 40 years and we are thankful that many individuals, foundations, and businesses continue to support our efforts,” said Norwood Village Green Concert Series President and Founding Program Director Joseph M. Liotta,
