Norwood-Norfolk Central School names students of the month

NORWOOD -- The staff at Norwood-Norfolk Central School recently named students of the month for October.

Danielle Linsky is the freshman student of the month. She is the daughter of Cory and Doug Linsky of Norwood. Danielle runs indoor and outdoor track and plays soccer. Danielle is an animal lover and wants to become a veterinarian.

Amber Stickney is the sophomore student of the month. She is the daughter of Ronald and Terry Stickney of Norwood. Amber participates in school activities such as Key Club, PAL and Photo Club. Amber is very interested in art and photography. She also enjoys fishing with her father. Amber’s future plan is to attend SUNY Potsdam to become an elementary teacher.

Leah Livernois is the junior student of the month. She is the daughter of Glenn and Carrie Livernois of Norwood. Leah’s hobbies include running, writing, reading and playing the trumpet. She enjoys math and science. She is a member of Key Club, Jazz Band, Varsity Club and Honor Society. Leah runs cross country and indoor and outdoor track at NNCS. Leah plans to graduate in the top 10 percent of her class with an advanced Regents diploma. After high school, she plans to attend college and study engineering.

Michelle Harris is the senior student of the month. She is the daughter of Mary Harris-Boyer and Todd Harris of Norwood. Michelle spends her free time drawing and reading. She also enjoys going to the gym and taking naps after school. Michelle is a member of Key Club and the Varsity Club. She is also the vice president of the National Honor Society. After high school, Michelle plans to attend college and become a physician’s assistant.

Each received a gift card from a local restaurant. The businesses that donated are the Hotel Grande and Al Smith’s of Norfolk and The Hometown Café and Lobster House of Norwood.
