NORWOOD – The Norwood American Legion will soon dedicate a new memorial outside the Maple Street post headquarters.
The memorial is of several uniformed figures from the armed service branches saluting the American flag.
The figures were donated by Mike Tuper in honor of his brother, Staff Sgt. Ronald Tuper, U.S. Army. The memorial will be dedicated to POWs and MIAs.
Everyone is invited to the dedication at noon Sunday, Oct. 27. Members would like to see active duty and retired service members there, along with members of the general public.
Legion officer Bob Henninger says the stones that make up the walkway of the memorial are old ballast stones from Hudson River ships that made their way north. The wall is made up of bricks from Drury Brick of Raymondville.
