The Northern New York Community Foundation Youth Philanthropy Council is requesting proposals from non-profit organizations operating in St. Lawrence, Jefferson, or Lewis counties for projects to be considered for funding.
This year, 34 students are participating, and will be divided into fall and spring sessions. The two councils, through the foundation, will distribute a total of $20,000 by June 2014. Max DelSignore, Coordinator of Donor Relations, said, “We also hope community organizations in the three-county area will capitalize on this opportunity to present impactful projects to our two councils.”
Proposals should include a general description of the organization and the project, as well as the amount requested. A contact person should also be listed. Finalists will be asked to make a brief presentation to each council.
Submissions for the fall council must be received at the Community Foundation no later than Dec. 2. Awards will be announced in March.
Proposals and a deadline for the high school’s spring council will be announced in early 2014.
For additional information, organizations can contact DelSignore at 782-7110.
