MASSENA -- The New York Power Authority (NYPA) will begin installing docks and buoys along the St. Lawrence River in the vicinity of its St. Lawrence-Franklin D. Roosevelt Power Project the week of April 25.
The first will be at the Frank S. McCullough Jr. Hawkins Point Visitors Center and Boat Launch.
The process expected to take about two weeks, dependent on the weather and river conditions, NYPA said.
Docks in Massena will be at Hawkins Point, Massena Intake and Massena Country Club. Buoys will be in the south channel.
Waddington docks will be at Whittaker and Howard parks. Buoys will be at the old milk factory.
All docks and buoys are scheduled to be removed in the fall, depending on weather and river conditions. The fall removal is timed so the docks are removed before heavy frost or ice creates unsafe conditions for workers and the boating public, NYPA said. Officials say they will release statements to the press and public in advance of their removal.
