MASSENA — Village garbage customers should have new recycle bins by the new year, Department of Public Works Superintendent Hassan Fayad said at Tuesday’s village meeting.
The Board of Trustees at the meeting awarded the bin bid to Home Depot, the lowest of four bidders at $65,575 for 4,300 containers.
Half of that, plus any delivery fees, which aren’t included, will be covered with a state grant, Fayad said.
“Hopefully by the first of the year we’ll have them distributed,” he said.
Those who have the older blue recycle bins will still be able to use them.
