COLTON -- The New Horizons Band of Northern New York will perform Wednesday, July 20 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. on the Green along Main Street between the library and town hall.

The backup rain location is the Pavilion at Swift Field in South Colton.

The performance theme is "From Near and Far" in observance of the band completing its seventh year. The group, directed by Ron Berry, was organized in 2009 in partnership with The Crane School of Music at SUNY Potsdam.

The large band performs a variety of music which appeals to people of all ages consistent with its purpose of providing music education, training and performance opportunities for adults. During the year the band accepts new members and so the upcoming concert is a good opportunity for interested adults to learn more about the band, meet members and talk to its director.

Audience participants need to bring chairs or blankets for seating. Volunteers will be on hand to help people needing assistance. The St. Patrick’s – St. Paul’s Altar Rosary Society will provide an ice cream social. Donations will be appreciated.

There is no admission fee to attend the summer series.
