OGDENSBURG -- Claxton-Hepburn Medical Center, 100 Horwood Place, has hired on a new family medicine practitioner.

Dr. Nupur Nagrare, who specializes in family medicine, will begin seeing patients at the hospital the week of Sept. 5.

Nagrare earned her medical degree from American University of Antigua, Antigua and Barbuda. She completed her residency in family medicine at Central Maine Medical Center, Lewiston, Maine, where she was chief resident.

She is a member of the American College of Physicians, a fellow of the National Physicians Alliance and the Society of Rural Physicians of Canada. She is certified by the American Board of Family Medicine, and has also published research.

Nagrare relocated to Ogdensburg from Maine, where she completed her family medicine residency.

“I look forward to providing the highest level continuity of care by focusing my attention on chronic disease management and pediatrics,” Nagrare said in a prepared statement from CHMC. The doctor would also like to provide prenatal care.

Nagrare and her husband, Ali, plan to reside in Ogdensburg. She and her husband are cooks who enjoy hosting family and friends, and traveling the world, CHMC officials said.

“Ali and I are eager to take in all that St. Lawrence County has to offer,” the doctor said in a news release from the hospital.
