OGDENSBURG – A new Dunkin Donuts restaurant could bring up to 18 jobs to Ogdensburg, according to a proposal from EWS Realty, LLC.
The Maine-based developer submitted a site plan to establish a franchise in the vacant .34-acre lot located between Burger King and Gerry’s Liquor on Paterson Street.
Ogdensburg Planning Director Andrea Smith said the planning board approved the application with several small modifications at a December board meeting.
She said the building will be 1,532 square feet, slightly smaller than the typical restaurants, which are 1,800 square feet.
The property will include six parking spots and drive-thru window. Smith said about 50 percent of the restaurants business is expected to stem from the drive-thru sales.
Smith said modifications include relocating the trash containers to allow for snow storage, installing a stop sign at the exit and adding a crosswalk at the entrance.
“There are no major problems with the application,” she said.
Construction is expected to begin in the spring, but an opening date was not listed in the application.
