POTSDAM – Potsdam Town Hall will be getting some much-needed work, requiring a closure of Raymond Street next week.
Raymond Street from Market Street to the parking lot behind Town Hall will be closed between 7 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. Sept. 26 through Oct. 14, according to the village Public Works Department.
This will allow work on the Town Hall, at 35 Market Street, to proceed.
The deteriorating back wall and roof of the former bank building will be reinforced. It has cracked over time as water and ice have worked their way into the exterior., The road closure will be for safety.
New windows were intalled in the back last week.
Another project, installation of an elevator, will be going out to bid, according to Town Clerk Cindy Goliber.
