To the Editor:

Over 200 motorcycles took to the road again on Saturday, July 30 for the 12th Annual Motorcycle Run to benefit Hospice & Palliative Care of St. Lawrence Valley.

Event organizers Roger and Linda Willmart worked together with family and friends to put together another great run this year.

With the help of many, many individuals and businesses the ride raised over $6,700. Proceeds will help Hospice staff provide end of life care for patients in St. Lawrence County and their families.

The Willmarts’ event has raised over $45,000 for Hospice over the last 12 years.

A big “thank you” goes to Ton’s Sports Bar Owner, Tom Delosh for hosting the start of the run and the dinner afterward. His hospitality, generous donations and help with servers and clean up are very much appreciated.

A special thank you goes to Linda Willmart for collecting raffle items and helping out in many other ways.

Thanks also goes to the Red Knights and all of the road guards who did a great job keeping the ride safe; to Potsdam Police Department for a job done just right; to Dennis and Precillia Tebo for running the poker run; to Scott and Kevin Willmart for running a smooth registration; to Tom and Heidi Fenner for doing a great job each year selling raffle tickets at all of the stops; to Eugene and Neika Mayo for selling tickets, helping with set up and take down and being busy all day; to Ed Lafay for all of the running around, putting up flyers and helping to get donations; to Brian and Linda Willmart and Linda Thorbahn for helping with whatever needed to be done the day of the run.

A highlight of the motorcycle run each year is a great dinner provided after the run, thanks to the effort and donations of many people. Thank you to the businesses who provided the food. To the cooks of the day, Neil Willmart, Mark Collins and Robbie Scott thank you for putting together yet another great meal. A special thank you also goes out to all of the family and supporters of the run, your help has made the run a huge success for 12 years running!

A big raffle with great prizes has always been an important part of the run each year. Our sincere thanks go to the many organizations and inviduals who donated raffle gifts.

Thanks also to all those who made cash gifts.

Most of all, we would like to thank the many motorcycle enthusiasts whose participation makes all of this possible.

Your support means so much to all of us at Hospice and to the families who receive our services, from the bottom of our hearts, thank you.
