MASSENA -- Robert Moses Nature Center has reopened the majority of ski and snowshoe trails.
Friends of the Nature Center say the trails had been unusable recently due to the dangerous hard ice and ruts.
The outer Pine Loop is still closed.
Visitors are asked to use snowshoes or skis and not walk in boots on the trail. This will prevent “boot holes,” which can make skiing difficult.
Cross-country ski sets and snowshoes are available to rent for only $4 a pair.
Rentals are available, weather permitting, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily. Visitors are asked to call or check the Friends Facebook page for trail conditions before coming out.
The Nature Center’s phone number is 705-5022, email is ncrebirth@yahoo.com and their Facebook page is: The Friends of the Robert Moses State Park Nature Center, Inc. Program information, brochures and calendar of events can be found on the Friend’s website also at: www.massenanaturecenter.org.
