MORRISTOWN -- The annual Morristown Public Library's Plein Air Festival will be held Aug. 2-Aug. 5.
This year's event will begin at 10 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 2 and end Sunday, Aug. 5 with a Show and Sale.
Thirty artists will be competing on a series of outdoor paintings at approved locations around the town. The artists may submit up to 3 pieces painted during the event for submission to judging and awards, each of which must be completed during the festival "en plein air," without the assistance of photography.
Hundreds of dollars in cash awards will be presented during judging Sunday at Bella-Brooke Vineyard and Winery, 2989 County Route 6, Hammond.
The Show and Sale will open to the public as soon as judging is complete.
All work done during the festival by the artists is for sale and there is a commission of 30 percent paid to the library. Outside sales are also subject to 30 percent paid to the library.
