OGDENSBURG -- The Greater Ogdensburg Chamber of Commerce will host its annual Thanksgiving Craft Show Saturday, Nov. 21, from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. featuring nearly 100 vendors.

“We have over vendors lined up to present their unique, homemade crafts,” said Laura Pearson, executive director of the chamber. “Join us to get a jump-start on your Christmas shopping.”

Over 1,300 people attended last year bringing in over $4,000 for the chamber.

“This is one of the largest and most successful fundraisers of the year for us,” she said.

The event is set to take place at the JF Kennedy Elementary School, 801 Park St.

Pearson said the event will be better organized this year, noting that the event returned to the school last year following renovations and that a new layout of the building had caused minor issues in 2014.

Shoppers can expect a small-town, local feel to the event as the criteria for vendors is “homemade,” Pearson said.

“It is always good to shop local and there is nobody more local than people doing homemade products,” she said.

Admission is $3 and a donation of canned of food if able to. The food will be donated to the Ogdensburg Neighborhood Center.

“I encourage everyone to come out and shop early, cross someone off the Christmas list,” she said.

Over 1,000 cans of food were collected last year, Pearson said.

A concession stand will offer pizza, nachos and cheese, hot dogs, chips and more. Proceeds support the chamber. Refreshments will be sold and there will be a 50/50 raffle drawing.
