OGDENSBURG -- A Monrovian-flagged ship MV Lolland arrived at the Port of Ogdensburg Friday morning delivering wind blades bound for the 80 MW Copenhagen Wind Farm.
The project, by EDF Renewables, will be built by September 2018 and operational by November 2018, according to a press release from the Ogdensburg Bridge and Port Authority.
The project consists of 40 two-MW turbines.
The Lolland was launched in 2011 and is a multi-purpose dry cargo ship of 12,772 tons gross weight, 472 feet long.
“We are delighted to welcome the MV Lolland to the Port of Ogdensburg,” OBPA Executive Director Wade A. Davis said in a prepared statement. “This is another excellent example of how past State and Federal investments into regional infrastructure create jobs and economic opportunities in the future.”
