Momentum St. Lawrence University campaign conclusion celebrated Feb. 25, 26

CANTON - The university welcomes community members at events celebrating the conclusion of the Momentum St. Lawrence campaign, held on campus Friday and Saturday, Feb. 25 and 26.

The weekend's events will culminate with a campus and community picnic on Saturday, Feb. 26, beginning at 11:30 a.m. in Sullivan Student Center.

On Friday, Feb. 25, student-led campus tours will depart from the Welcome Center at 62 Park St. every 30 minutes, beginning at 2 p.m. and continuing through 4:30 p.m. In addition to the opportunity to see new and upgraded facilities added to the campus throughout Momentum St. Lawrence, the tours will also feature poster presentations of student research projects.

An hour-long tour of the Johnson Hall of Science, the university's Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Gold facility, will take place at 3:30 p.m. on Friday, leaving from the building lobby.

Also on Friday, from 4 to 5:30 p.m., in the Common Room of Sykes Residence Hall, a reception will be held in honor of student leaders, many of whom have benefited from scholarships funded through Momentum St. Lawrence, or who participate in the expanded programming that the campaign has made possible.

A series of seminars will be held on Saturday, Feb. 26, with faculty members from across academic departments and programs discussing the ways that Momentum St. Lawrence has enhanced the university's curriculum and opportunities for students. The schedule follows:

- Griffiths Arts Center Lobby, in front of Peterson-Kermani Performance Hall, "The Arts at St. Lawrence: Moving Forward, led by Birdsong Associate Professor in the Arts Rebecca Daniels, performance and communication arts; Assistant Professor of Music and Director of the Newell Center for Arts Technology Chris Watts; and Director of Music Ensembles Barry Torres

- Room 10, Carnegie Center for International Studies, "The New York City Semester," led by Associate Professor of Economics Peter FitzRandolph
