Mitchell John Shannon, 71, Ogdensburg

OGDENSBURG -- Mitchell John Shannon age 71 of Ogdensburg, NY, passed away Sunday April 14, 2024, at North Country Nursing & Rehabilitation Center.

A burial will take place at Flackville Cemetery at the convenience of the family.

Arrangements are under the care and direction of Fox & Murray Funeral Home.

Mitchell was born July 7, 1952, in Prince Georges, Maryland to the late Nicholas John and Nora Mary (Walker) Shannon.

Mitchell graduated from Mater Dei College with an Associate’s Degree.

On March 26, 1995, he married Susan (Lawton) Morley in Lisbon, NY.

Mitchell worked and retired from the St. Lawrence Addiction Treatment Center in Ogdensburg.

His true passion was woodworking. Mitchell worked on counter tops, beds, kitchen cupboards and cabinets. He had the opportunity and was privileged, to working for Allen Newell in Chippewa Bay, NY as a Cabinet Maker during his retirement.

He enjoyed gardening, golfing, camping, touring the country on his BMW motorcycle, and bicycling.

Mr. Shannon is survived by his wife of 29 years, Susan Elaine Shannon of Ogdensburg, NY; a step son, Jonathan Morley and companion, Jeanette DeLorme; a step daughter, Emily Patricia Morley and her husband, William Moeglein; a brother, Todd Little; a sister, Kathleen Marie Shannon; his brother and sister in laws, Debbie Bredice, Paula Hillis and her husband, Alex, Bern Lawton and his wife, Debbie, Tim Lawton, and Sandy Gauthier; his grandchildren, Cash Morley, Charlotte Morley, and Olivia Lee; and several nieces and nephews.

Along with his parents Nicholas J. and Nora M. Shannon, he was predeceased by a stepdaughter, Alicen Rose Morley; a brother, Nicholas J. Shannon; a sister, Kimberly Shannon; and a sister in law, Marion Lawton.
