Memorial Day parade in Potsdam grows thanks to community help

To the Editor:

On behalf of the VFW Post 1194 and the DAV Chapter 164, I would like to thank everyone for their support in this year's Memorial Day parade in Potsdam.

Each year our parade grows and it is because of our community members who make it happen. I want to thank the Potsdam Police Department, all local fire departments, rescue squad companies, PCS Marching Band, Blevins for supplying van's for our use throughout the weekend, all volunteers who came out to help place flags and clean up at our local cemeteries and everyone else who I may have missed.

A special thank you to the Town of Potsdam Supervisor, Marie Reagan as well as Cindy Goliber and Karen McAllister for their support in supplying American flags for us to place on our fallen comrades grave sites.

Also, I want to thank Lt. Newsome, Lt. Burgett and Private Brandow for their support from Ft. Drum. As always, I want to thank my committee members for all of their tireless efforts in making the Memorial Day weekend events a great success. Thank you all again and we look forward to a bigger and better parade next year.
