MASSENA -- A 34-year-old woman was jailed on Christmas Eve after being charged with a felony for allegedly stealing $1,341.42 worth of goods from Wal-Mart Supercenter.
Jamie L. Northrup of 351 East Orvis St. allegedly left the store with a cart containing two Samsung Galaxy SIII smart phones, laundry soap, bleach, potatoes, steak and ice cream.
She is being held at the St. Lawrence County Correctional Facility on a charge of fourth-degree grand larceny in lieu if $10,000 bail or $20,000 bond. She was collared at a traffic stop at 3 a.m. on Dec. 24 and was also charged with third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation and unlicensed driver.
The grand larceny charge is punishable by one to four years behind bars.
