MASSENA -- The village passed an external audit with flying colors, according to Carl Seyfarth of Seyfarth and Seyfath CPAs.
“There’s no bad news tonight. This is a good news audit. You guys did a wonderful job. There’s no significant issues that need to be talked about tonight,” Seyfath told the board Tuesday.
He said after looking at the books, all of the entries were accurate.
“When we don’t have any adjustments … you’re getting good information throughout the year … we had no corrections to make,” he said.
He did make a couple of criticisms that he called minor.
“Maybe some cleanup in (bookkeeping entry) formatting, but nothing other than that,” he said. “The justice court, some of the payments were going out late … it’s a relatively minor issue.”
