MASSENA -- The Board of Education unanimously approved hiring winter coaches, a high school nurse and substitutes.

Anne Marie Miller was hired as a high school licensed registered nurse at a $36,476 salary, effective Nov. 3. She replaces Jessalyn Clary, who’s Oct. 3 resignation the board accepted as part of their personnel actions. In the same swoop, the board appointed her a nurse substitute effective Oct. 6 at $100 per day.

Julie Chapman was hired as a 4.5-hour per day bus driver at $19,423 per hour.

April Charleson was hired as an English language arts teacher at the junior high effective Oct. 17. She will be paid a $54,701 salary.

High school math teacher Brent McCarthy was granted final tenure.

Heather Chontosh was hired as a long-term first grade substitute at Jefferson Elementary through Feb. 10.

Teresa Mitchell was appointed latch key monitor substitute and Robyn McGregor got the okay to work as a food service sub. Each will receive $9.50 per hour.

Carl Eldridge resigned as a half-time social studies teacher at the high school. He cited personal reasons.
