MASSENA -- Massena Memorial Hospital will host a free kidney screening clinic Sunday, May 5 from 9 a.m. to noon at the dialysis center.
Individuals over the age of 18 with high blood pressure, diabetes or a family history of kidney disease should have a kidney screening. The screening will provide participants with a comprehensive risk appraisal, blood pressure measurement, blood and urine testing and a meeting with clinician Khurram Mumtaz to discuss the results.
“Twenty-six million adults in the United States have chronic kidney disease and millions more are at risk,” says Mumtaz.
After the screening the National Kidney Foundation of Northeast New York will contact participants with results, send the results to their clinicians and refer them to a clinician or public health facility.
