CANTON -- A Massena man took top honors at St. Lawrence University’s first Amateur Table Tennis Tournament was held April 25 in Newell Fieldhouse.
A full slate of 32 players from the university, the St. Lawrence Valley Table Tennis Club, Cornwall Table Tennis Club and students from a collegiate club at Clarkson University took part Saturday afternoon.
Joseph Revai from Massena won first place, Nazih Assi from Cornwall placed second and Ibrahim Khan from St. Lawrence University took third place honors.
The tournament was put on as part of an Innovation Grant awarded last fall that purchased new table tennis equipment for recreational play for the St. Lawrence community.
Additional tables were supplied by the St. Lawrence Valley Table Tennis Club.
