POTSDAM -- Massena fitness center Curves recently donated $950 to the Canton-Potsdam Hospital Foundation.
The money came from a fundraiser they held during October, which many recognize as Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
Their donation will be used for the Cancer Navigation Program at the Hospital’s Center for Cancer Care.
Cancer navigation services include help with travel expenses, insurance questions, a support group, emotional support, referrals for any needed service, educational presentations, integrative therapy referrals and navigation through the health care continuum. Last year, the breast cancer navigation program assisted more than 30 women and held a breast cancer survivors’ dinner with more than 100 people in attendance.
“We are so grateful to Curves, and to all the businesses and individuals who support our Cancer Navigation Program,” said patient navigator Jackie Dow. “These donations really do make a huge difference for our patients.”
