MASSENA -- The Massena Central School District Board of Education hired a special education teacher, two part-time drivers and made additions to their substitute teacher list Thursday night.
Emily Wilkins received approval as a full-time special education teacher. Her appointment is effective from Jan. 16 to Dec. 8, 2017. She will receive a $38,133 pro-rated salary.
Michael Northrup and Robert Martell were each hired as four-hour-per-day motor vehicle operators. They will each receive $13,717 pro-rated salaries.
Amanda Love and Joseph Rockhill were added as substitute teachers. They are each listed on the board’s list of personnel actions as “certified elementary” and will be paid $100 per day.
Courtney McKnight, Michael Stenlake and Erica Tremblay will each be paid $80 per day as substitutes.
Maureen Frary received the nod as a long-term substitute at Nightengale Elementary and will receive $100 or $150 per day, according to the district’s personnel action list. He appointment runs from Jan. 27 to March 10.
Heather Chontosh will receive $150 per day as a long-term substitute at Jefferson Elementary. She will hold the post from Feb. 11 to March 23.
Rachael Mott will be paid $9.50 per hour as a support staff substitute, effective Jan. 16.
High school special education teacher Virginia Sullivan was granted a medical leave from Feb. 2 to April 10.
Jefferson Elementary teacher Erinn Tredo was granted a medical leave extension from Feb. 11 to March 23.
The board accepted a resignation from J.W. Leary Junior High math teacher Rebecca Williams, effective Jan. 30.
