POTSDAM – Downtown Market Street between Main and Elm streets will be blocked off to vehicles Saturday afternoon as college students are introduced to local businesses.
Traffic will be rerouted from noon to 5 p.m. as freshmen visit many businesses with their “passports” that they present to area merchants.
Entertainment and activities will also be taking place in the blocked-off portion of Market Street.
The annual event is coordinated by SUNY Potsdam, Clarkson University and the Potsdam Chamber of Commerce.
It is designed to introduce the freshmen to local businesses as well as the community.
