POTSDAM — Potsdam police said they arrested a man who is unlawfully in the country on sexual abuse charges Saturday night.
Police said the arrest stemmed from a sexual assault that occurred at a business in the Village of Potsdam.
Following investigation with assistance from U.S. Customs and Border Protection and Department of Homeland Security, it was revealed that the subject was in the United States unlawfully.
Police said the investigation is ongoing and more charges are pending.
Sanchez was held on $10,000 bail or $20,000 bond and is to appear in Potsdam court Dec. 7.
