BRUSHTON -- A 56-year-old man died in a crash early today near Brushton Dam in the Town of Moira.
State police said their preliminary investigation tells them that the as-yet unidentified man’s 2013 Chevrolet Silverado pick-up truck became airborne after striking a guide rail and crossed over the Little Salmon River.
The accident occurred at about 2:40 a.m. today as the vehicle was eastbound on Washington Street, U.S. Rt. 11, when it went off the south shoulder.
The hit vehicle on several large rocks before coming to rest on the east bank of the river.
Franklin County Coroner Brian Langdon pronounced the man dead at about 6:20 a.m. and authorized the removal of the body to Alice Hyde Medical Center in Malone.
Troopers are seeking the operator of a small white sport utility vehicle who may have witnessed the crash.
