Lustig leads Saints at Allegheny's Kuhn Invitational

Junior Brandon Lustig shot rounds of 75 and 78 on the par-72 6,808 yard Country Club of Meadville Course to help St. Lawrence University's men's golf team to a 10th place finish in the 16-team Guy W. Kuhn Invitational hosted by Allegheny College on Monday.

Lustig tied for 13th in a 93-golfer field with his 153 total with classmate Jack Whelan finishing as the second Saint golfer, tied for 27th with a 155 total. Whelan was tied for fourth, one off the lead of even par 72 after Sunday's round, but shot an 82 on Monday to fall well off the pace.

Colin Izzo of Washington and Jefferson shot a two over total of 146 to take individual honors while Nick Palladino of Rochester shot even par in the second round and was tied for second at 148.

Brady Garrett shot rounds of 84 and 86 for a 170 total and was tied for 71st with teammate Nick Sinsigalli, who shot 87 on Sunday and 82 on Monday for 170. Jack Reardon was the fifth Saint golfer, shooting back-to-back 87s to finish tied for 79th.

The Saints had a 319-329 total for 648. Carnegie Mellon won the tournament with rounds of 300 and 303 for a 603 total , three strokes ahead of Rochester which shot 304 and 302 for a 606 total.
