NORWOOD -- Local trucking businessman Michael Knowlton, a longtime supporter of the Norwood Fire Department, made a special donation this year of $1,000 in honor of Sue Perry and longtime Recreation Coordinator Pete LePage.
The Fire Department has been soliciting funds from local businesses that would support Norwood Fire Department’s efforts to entertain the thousands that enjoy their 4th of July celebration. Their popular fireworks display is one of the largest in the North Country. This year’s parade was special too, as the Karwartha Kavalier’s joined the procession. These neighbors from the North have played at the famous Gray Cup Game in Canada, the equivalent of our Super Bowl. They were also awarded Best Musical Entry at the Canada Day Parade in Peterborough, Ontario last year.
